As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I’ve learned that mental health is a lifestyle — one that we actively build, maintain, and sometimes rebuild after life knocks us flat.

Getting a diagnosis can be life-changing. It gives language to what you’ve been feeling and opens access to care. But if we stop there, we miss the point. A diagnosis names the storm; a lifestyle helps you navigate it.
